so i was bored...

Today I did some more research and wrote some descriptions for the different genres my site will focus on. Then I got bored. I didn't want to do that anymore and I wanted to get some more content on my site despite not having anything describing the pages yet. I have two stories on it now, a short story (un-spaced ten pages long) and a piece of flash fiction (29 words long), but I want more up. I looked at random things I have on my computer, reconfirmed that I can't write poetry and opened up a few short story documents. Some are unfinished so they couldn't go up on the site and one which was finished I started to go through and read it again and edit before uploading it on the site. It's tentatively titled 'Kobe Beef' and as I was editing it I realized something, this piece is garbage. So I tossed it aside and decided not to put any on my site. Then I started looking for my plays and concluded that they're either on an external hard drive or on my old computer. As long as they exist I'll be fine. If not then I'll just have to do what Dr. Crespy said all play-writes should do when reworking a piece, start from scratch for draft two. Don't look at the old piece, get feedback then try again. The parts you want will come back to you, the sucky parts will be gone and new better parts will happen. Paraphrasing like mad there... But I don't want to spend the time completely rewriting them, nor will I... Not until summer maybe. Whatever, this is all speculation. I think I'll pack and leave now.

I think I’m running with PBwiki. If not the work I’ve been doing is fortunately transferrable. I’m writing descriptions of the genres I’d like to have on the website, descriptions of the website itself, about the website, tips about contributing, tips about critiquing, etc… After I get the site up and it looks satisfactory to me I’m going to contact some friends of mine to contribute to the site and make a couple of them editors. Then I’ll tell the url to the people in my writing class, then annoy my friends on Facebook with a bulk message. Because nothing is more powerful and personal then a bulk message. I’m in the stages of trying to finalize the website before I get content and contributors. I’m not so sure yet how to change the look of the wiki thus far without having to pay PBwiki money, which I may have to do at some point. I’d definitely love to give it some flair at some point with banners, colors and maybe pictures. Sigh…another thing for me to tamper with and try to figure out.

I wish I kept track of how many wiki's I've created and destroyed thus far. I'm trying again with pbwiki because other websites I've grown tired of the other formats I've used. The problem with PbWiki is that they want money from you in order to do anything with your website. That's a nuisance. I played around with the site more today and just dove in and tried my best to figure it out and well, I did. I think I have a firm enough grasp on how to use the website that it will actually be something at least decent when this class is over. Yay for mediocrity!

Did you do that faithful reader? I think I'll start all posts with a command from now on just to see what happens. I'd probably just annoy people... Well I couldn't freaking find the website I used either! The website that linked me to where I created my blog is gone into oblivion. Poof! No more. Sad times for me. I found another site through google that I'm using now and seem to like. I haven't found a size limit to how much I can post so I'm working on the assumption that it's infinite. As it should be. It doesn't have ads, which is great. The only problem with it really thus far is that I can't change the background to be black and the font white, which is what I want to do. It's easier on the reader if they're staring at a screen for a while if it's colored this way. Plus it looks cool. I also can't find a better way to have all the links on the side like I want shown at once, you have to click on a link to see all the links. Boo extra unnecessary steps! Who knows, will this be the site I use? Or will this one crap out on me too?

Um...

So I've encountered the strangest problem with my final project. Um, ya...I can't seem to find it. You read that right. I made a website and I can't find it! I don't even know how this happens. I went to my email account where the url was sent to me after I made it and then when I went there I went to the start-up screen for making a wiki! A friend of mine joked that it was killed by the Guardians. (A reference to Halo, meaning whenever something kills you that isn't another player or character, it's usually the random Guardians. No one knows who they are, but they killed my wiki, or hid it.) I'm now going to have to remake the wiki or spend even more time trying to find it. Boo!

So for some reason when I was creating wiki's earlier I didn't notice you could do it with google! So I started playing around with it and by far it's the easiest website to play with. I was able to make links fine and was soon answering my own questions by simply playing around with the site. I need to figure out how to remove the ads though, then I'll be happy. Regardless, this site shows potential and may come close to actually being the website I'll use.

Garfield Sucks

Garfield isn’t funny. I think that’s a non disputable fact along side with Stephen King sucks. A friend of mine sent me a link to this website http://garfieldminusgarfield.tumblr.com/ and I must say it’s probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen from a Garfield strip ever. The point is that they removed Garfield from all of the strips to get John talking to himself. From the website itself:

“Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? I suggest you check it out if you find Garfield particularly unfunny.

I recently went to a fireworks display from my supplier, Winco in Lone Jack, Missouri. For those of you who don’t know, which I think is all of you, I have a fireworks stand in Kearney, Missouri. By stand I mean it’s a metal warehouse that my parents use for fundraising, but it sits without a purpose during the summer so we decided to put it to use five years ago. I do rather well and it helps pay for college. The fourth of July on a Friday which is going to be great for business. This depends though on how much the media scares people by talking about a recession. When are they going to realize that this hurts the economy more because the best way to get out of a recession is to spend money and when you scare everyone into not spending their money… This is now going to be a very frantic post, this reminds me of a new reality show I saw advertised on VH1 (the reality televisions station). It’s following a high school journalism class in some school, I assume in Texas and them reporting the ‘news.’ I heard one kid in the preview say, ‘Journalists are like the most important people on Earth.’ I wanted to reach through the television and punch her soul out. Wherever I was, the show was neat and there are some good products we’re capable of buying this year, but some of this new stuff is disappointing. Fireworks aren’t lasting as long and the cost is going up, a bad mix. I’ll ignore that crap though and only buy quality because I’m a perfectionist in all things except my blog and classes. ^_^ If you buy fireworks make sure they’re at least Brothers or Black Cat because the majority of everything else will suck. I also discovered my friend Mark who lives in Chicago was able to buy Iron Maiden tickets in advance so I’m freaking seeing Iron Maiden on June 11^th!
